Mission Christmas
As the 25th December approaches quickly upon us, Fleetwise have taken the mindset that this holiday is a time for giving back to the community. A time of raising awareness of those less fortunate, who so often, slip to the back of our thoughts as we enjoy all things Christmas with friends and family.
With almost 1 in 4 children living in poverty in Northern Ireland, the Cash for Kids campaign aspires to break down the current divide of social status on our very doorsteps. Mission Christmas is about keeping the Christmas dream alive for local children, who through no fault of their own, would otherwise wake up without any presents to open this Christmas morning.
After speaking with General Manager of Fleetwise, Kerrie Gass expressed how delighted she was with the response from not only her own staff, but the generosity of local businessman Philip Ewart of Land Survey Construction Ltd who kindly donated money collected at their own Christmas Party to help buy toys for the initiative.
A combined effort allowed a Fleetwise van to leave Milford on Thursday 20th December with 200+ toys heading for the Cash for Kids headquarters in Belfast. The initiative ran through Cool FM allows parents to register their need for help this Christmas and allows both boys and girls, age ranging from new born to 18 years old to receive a present worth around £45 each. Something that may seem a small part of our Christmas, but to those with nothing, will be their entire Christmas.
Fleetwise would like to thank everyone who donated presents or monetary donations which has helped their bid in making a difference this Christmas.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
